Family Background
- Is born from a summer fling between her Scottish father and American mother
- Her mother was on vacation in Scotland when Brid was conceived. Realizing she was pregnant and not wanting to terminate the birth (but too embarrassed to bring a child home) she returned to Scotland until she gave birth and then abandoned the child
- She was raised by her father, Gordon, and step mother, Catorina. She has a younger half brother named Baxter
- Jenny, her biological mother, appeared when Brid turned ten after learning that Jenny could no longer bear children.
- Brid was forced to live summers in America with Jenny
